Echo 214 - Heart Sounds and Murmurs

This course reviews the steps needed to evaluate heart sounds, their creation, and meaning of sounds generated by the heart. Also included are abnormal heart sounds, their origin and meaning, and heart murmurs. Heart murmurs can assist in diagnosing conditions such as valvular disease. Actual sound files are found online.

Objective: To be able to identify the normal heart sounds and their origins, the changes in sounds caused by certain disease states, and the generation and meaning of heart murmurs. A 10 question exam and evaluation form completes the course.
(Grade of 70% is required to receive CME credit)
