The Cardiac
Cycle Where It All Begins
This course reviews the cardiac phases that make up the cardiac cycle.
Session includes interactive activities in identifying components, waveforms,
explanation of valvular function and normal hemodynamic values, and illustrations
of how valvular abnormalities affect the hemodynamics of the heart. An
intimate knowledge of the cardiac cycle is required to understand how
color flow Doppler is used to determine valvular abnormalities.
Objective:
To be able to identify the phases of the heart's cyclic activity, the
components and their functions, hemodynamic waveforms, normal hemodynamic
values, and valvular abnormalities by examining hemodynamic waveforms.
A 10 question exam and evaluation form completes the course.
