Richard K. Duncan, RDCS, BBA, has over 28 years of experience in cardiology with technical and managerial experience in cardiac cath and echo labs. He developed and became the noninvasive program director for the Georgia Heart Institute cardiovascular technology program that gained accreditation prior to the first class' graduation and has been in the education side of the field for 14 years. Rick started Echo-Web in 1997 as a way to help cardiovascular sonographers in obtaining echo CME.
Rick has lectured all over the United States, authored publications, held workshops, registry review courses, and given presentations for industry and hospital organizations. He held the echocardiography board position for two terms with ACP (ACVP) and with various committees with the American Society of Echocardiography and was also on the exam writing committee for CCI for a term. Rick created Echo-Web in order to extend the reach of training to those that need it in the field. Echo-Web was designed to focus on the echocardiographer offering education and CME credits for registered and non-registered alike. In working with Gail and others on Vascular-Web, this mission is the same - to support the ultrasound community and in particular the technologist and sonographer.
Gail P. Size, BS, RVT, RVS, FSVU, has over 20 years of technical and managerial experience in both clinical and private vascular laboratories. She is the founder and president of Inside Ultrasound, Inc. a provider of Basic Training in Noninvasive Vascular Testing, Adult and Stress Echocardiography Testing, and Vascular Interpretation of Physicians. Gail most recent undertaking is the creation of the Southwest Area Vascular Association and the Vice-President and Education Coordinator for www.vascular-web.com; a web site devoted to the vascular professional as a total resource tool. Gail is having a great time promoting and connecting everyone together in hopes of creating a stronger vascular technology/ultrasound society and community. Gail has lectured, authored numerous publications, conducted workshops and has been involved in presentations throughout the United States and Europe. She has served as the President of the Chicago Area Vascular Association, an application reviewer for ICAVL, board Society of Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) Midwest regional chapter advisor, Co-Chair and Chairman of the Society of Vascular Ultrasound’s Education committee which during that time the committee authored the SVU position statement “Standards for Undergraduate Educational Programs in Vascular Technology” and served on the SVU’s Board of Directors and is presently the Southwest Regional Chapter Advisor for the SVU. In 1998 Gail was awarded the Distinguished Service award by the Society of Vascular Technology and Advanced Practice Sonographer – Vascular by the SDMS in 2003 and elevated to the status of Fellow in the Society of Vascular Ultrasound in 2003.
Terry Reynolds, BS, RDCS, has been active in the field of echocardiography since 1983 and is the Director of the School of Cardiac Ultrasound at the Arizona Heart Institute. As a nationally recognized lecturer and educator, he has been instrumental in advancing the utilization of noninvasive echocardiographic hemodynamic assessment. In addition to his clinical talents, Terry took over the reins at the Cardiac School of Ultrasound at the Arizona Heart Institute in 1985. He is currently the Director and Chief Administrator of the Cardiac School of Ultrasound. He has numerous publications to his credit and has authored several textbooks including The Echocardiographer’s Pocket Reference and The Pediatric Echocardiographer’s Pocket Reference.
Claudia A. Benge, RDCS, RDMS, RVT
, has over 25 years of diagnostic ultrasound experience performing a wide variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including cardiac, vascular, general, ob-gyn, breast, small parts, and musculoskeletal. Claudia was the coauthor of a cardiac and a general ultrasound cross-training manuals for Methodist Hospital (now Clarian), Indianapolis, IN. Claudia has taught ultrasound to sonographers and physicians; she was an adjunct instructor and clinical coordinator for Butler University’s Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound (1980-1985). Claudia has given numerous lectures in cardiac, peripheral vascular, billing & coding for ultrasound and quality improvement. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Society of Vascular Ultrasound and Cardiovascular Credentialing International Board. Claudia has performed applications training for various ultrasound manufacturers. In 2001, Claudia opened Benge & Associates in Carmel, Indiana. Benge & Associates is an organization that performs Diagnostic ultrasound accreditation consulting, training, lectures, applications, PRN, Quality improvement, and Quality Auditing.
Karen E. Montrastelle, R.D.C.S. has over 22 years of experience in Cardiac Echocardioigraphy. Karen is the Technical Director over the Echo Lab in a private office setting. Karen is currently an Adjunct Instructor and Clinical Instructor for the University of Southern Indiana in the Bachelors Degree Program for Radiologic and Imaging Sciences - Sonography.
