 Advanced ECG Interpretation
Description:Course Description: Health care providers in today's fast-paced emergency rooms, critical care units, post-anesthesia care units, operating rooms, and telemetry units need to possess ECG interpretation skills that transcend the basics. An informed, systematic approach will ensure the accurate identification of cardiac dysrhythmia and the subsequent application of appropriate treatment protocols. Attend this seminar and learn to interpret the 12-lead, 15-lead and right-sided ECG in order to distinguish between ischemia, injury, and infarct. Enhance your ability to use axis deviation to detect bundle branch blocks and hemiblocks, and learn how to identify ventricular tachycardias, aberrant rhythms and pre-excitation rhythms. You will leave with a practical approach to interpreting ECGs that you will be able to apply to your practice immediately.

Echocardiography: Making Sense of the Data
Description:Echocardiography: Making Sense of the Data The interpretation of an Echocardiogram has become more than just evaluating wall motion abnormalities to calculate an ejection fraction. Today’s new equipment provides the clinician with a wealth of information unimagined ten years ago, and interpreters are finding it increasingly difficult to assimilate the reams of information provided by the Echocardiographer. You will learn the tools and understanding that builds greater confidence and accuracy in your echo interpretation skills. It is designed to maximize your time investment by focusing on normal versus abnormal echocardiograms in a small group setting that will include lecture, case presentations and interpretation sessions. The course topics will include basic understanding of what the numbers mean, and how abnormalities visualized by echocardiography affect patient management in the clinical setting. Obvious hemodynamic abnormalities as well as subtle findings will be presented in a logical, and concise program designed for a “Real World” echo lab. This course is also a great way to document formal training for Echocardiography laboratory accreditation. Topics include: 2-D measurements M-Mode analysis Color flow Doppler Pulsed and Continuous Doppler measurements and analysis Continuity equation Simpson’s method of Disks Tissue Doppler Diastology Systolic dysfunction Contrast media Analysis of valvular regurgitation Valvular stenosis and Valve area Pulmonary artery pressure measurements Current ASE requirements for a complete Transthoracic Echocardiogram

 19th Annual Cases in Echocardiography
Description:TEE, Doppler and Stress-Interpretation and Clinical Decision Making for the Advanced Echocardiographer. Intended for physicians and sonographers with an advanced background in echocrdiography, this advanced course is designed to provide te clinician with an update on two-dimensional, Doppler, stress, and transesophageal echocardiography. It is not a "how-to" course, but instead will concentrate on the application of echocardiography in clinical decision making. The program consists of a large number of clinical cases which illustrate the problems cardiologists commonly encounter. Multiple choice questions addressing the clinical utility and limitations of echocardiography follow each case. In addition, faculty present "rapid fire" and "unknown" cases. The audience is also encouraged to bring unknown cases which will be shown during a special session. Special breakout sessions are devoted tot the interpretation of Doppler hemodynamics, Doppler tissue and strain rate imaging, stress echocardiography, congenital heart disease, and intraoperative echocardiography.
